HEPATITIS B & C
Training Program and Treatment Update 2011
|
ATTENDEES:
|
Hepatitis B: primary care, infectious disease and internal medicine physicians. |
|
Hepatitis C: gastroenterologists, hepatologists, infectious disease specialists and their mid-level providers. |
| |
Each year, the SC Liver Research Consortium, in collaboration with Scripps Clinic, organizes a national continuing medical education (CME) training series focusing on Hepatitis B and C. These targeted, full day conferences are offered in major metropolitan areas throughout the country, on Saturday's, at a convenient hotel venue. Each session is led by two or more members of the SC Liver Research Consortium; all recognized thought leaders and experts in the field of Hepatology. They are also teamed up with a midlevel provider to offer a multidisciplinary team approach to the program. Faculty is local with knowledge of the specific market conditions, specifications and challenges.
In the history of the course, these programs were offered as separate half day programs, with Hepatitis B in the spring and Hepatitis C in the fall. As a result of attendee feedback, we have combined these programs so they are both offered into a one full day program, in which both Hepatitis B and C training is offered.
The course curriculum is designed as an interactive session providing 7.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ to the attendee. Content is presented via lectures, case studies and Q&A. The class style is structured, but sufficiently informal to promote questions and interaction. Additionally, class size is limited to 50 attendees per city in order to ensure a hands-on learning environment. A bound syllabus is also provided to each attendee as a resource for future reference.
