Course Overview
Course Overview: Physicians frequently struggle with distinguishing IBS from other functional or GI and bowel disorders, Nurse practitioners and physician assistants increasingly manage IBS patients but often lack access to up-to-date education on newer pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions. This focused CME activity provides an opportunity to reinforce current clinical practices and also learn new and emerging approaches.
Through expert-led instruction and interactive case-based learning, this program will enable clinicians to apply evidence-based diagnostic criteria, initiate appropriate therapies, and collaborate effectively with patients to improve symptom control, adherence, and quality of life.

· Recognize the pathways and symptoms of those with Irritable Bowel Syndrome
· Summarize the underlying physiological and psychological determinants of patient symptoms
· Review the diagnostic criteria and available tests
· Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with IBS by applying new clinical data
· Discuss the benefits and potential side effects of IBS-C therapies like Linoclotide, Lubiprostone, and Tenapanor
· Discuss the benefits and potential side effects of IBS-D therapies like Eluxadoline and Rifaximin
